Growing Practices

We use sustainable agricultural practices to grow over 200 varieties of specialty and heirloom vegetables, herbs and flowers.

We build and maintain our soil’s biology and organic matter with
cover crops and mulches, compost application, crop rotation and low-till management practices.

We don’t use any chemicals, synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. We don’t use GMO or chemically treated seeds nor do we use any synthetic substances in our post-harvest handling process.

We will be certified organic by next season and are a proud signer of the NOFA New York's Farmers Pledge.

Balanced Healthy Soil

We test our soil in the spring and fall for multiple indicators of soil health such as macro and micro nutrient availability and soil organic matter and then amend our soil with natural minerals and compost to balance any deficiencies that came up in our analysis.

Nutritional Density

Our goal is to grow produce with such high levels of nutritional density that it truly is food as medicine. To determine nutrient density, we test our soil’s electroconductivity and our crops’ sugar content and nutrient sap levels throughout the growing season.

Delicious Flavor and Quality

A lovely byproduct of nutritionally dense produce is stellar quality and phenomenal flavor.  Our specialty and heirloom varieties thrive in our mineral rich soil and develop mouthwatering flavors and stay fresh longer.
